Shared note | Reputedly Alexander was an illegitimate son of the ninth Earl of Caithness, he married at least two, possibly 3 times..the second wife being Barbara Campbell.
First Tacksman in Lambsdale, later tacksman in Strubster, Canisbay.
First Wife given as Margaret Mackay in book \"Sinclairs of Roslin, Caithness, and Goshen\", but only OPR marriage on the date given is that to Margaret McIver....however Alexander's mother was said to be a MacKay..so possible error on author's part?
Also seems to be accepted that Alexander married for a third time to Margaret McGregor and had a son James.
I am not convinced, but others seem to be so I include it here with the caveat that none of it is proveable. |
